What size is the bear?
Each bear stands approximately 36-38 cm tall. (Size may vary slightly as every bear is individually handmade.)
Can I see one of your bears in person?
Yes, absolutely! If you would like to see one of my bears in person, you can find a small selection of them at Lux, a beautiful independent shop in Lymington. You can visit their website HERE for more information.
Lux is run by Fiona, who creates truly stunning bespoke lampshades for her customers. If you are feeling extra creative, you could even treat yourself to a bespoke lampshade to complement your bespoke decorative bear!
I can also occasionally be found at local fairs and events. Please keep an eye on my social media for updates on where I will be next.
Do you do weighted bears?
Yes, I do offer weighted bears. A weighted bear is designed to weigh the same as a baby and can be made as a special request. If you are considering a weighted bear, please get in touch with me and we can talk through your ideas and requirements together.
Can I choose how the garments are used on the bear?
Yes! You’re welcome to tell me your favourite fabrics or any placement ideas. With lots of experience making memory bears, I’ll use your preferences along with my judgement to create the best, most beautiful design based on the clothing you provide.
How do I get the clothes to you?
Once you have purchased your bear, you will send your cherished garments to me. After checkout, I will email you with clear instructions on where and how to send your items, so you know exactly what to do.
I recommend carefully double packing your garments in a waterproof package to help ensure they arrive safely and undamaged. As these items are very special, I always advise sending them using a signed and tracked postal service. Please note that I cannot be responsible for any items that arrive damaged in the post.
You will also receive a slip in your confirmation email which I kindly ask you to include with your garments when you send them. This slip contains your order number and allows me to match your clothing to your order. Without this, it may not be possible for me to identify which order the garments belong to.
If you ever feel unsure at any stage, you are always welcome to get in touch before sending anything.
Can I drop off and collect my garments in person?
Yes, of course! If you live in the South of England and if you would prefer to drop off and collect your items in person, you are very welcome to do so. I am based in Bournemouth, Dorset. If you would like to arrange this, please get in touch with me by email or phone so we can agree a suitable time.
How much does postage and packaging cost?
Postage and packaging are calculated at checkout. As your items are precious, your finished bear will be returned using a tracked and signed for delivery service, for added peace of mind. If you would prefer to collect your bear in person, please get in touch with me before placing your order and I can remove the postage and packaging costs.
I don’t live in the UK. Can I still order a bear?
Yes. At the moment, I do not accept international orders through the website, but this is something I am working on. If you live outside the UK and would like to order a bear, please get in touch with me directly so we can discuss your order and arrange international postage.
Is my bear a toy?
My bears are soft and comforting, and it is completely natural to want to give them a cuddle. However, please bear in mind that they are designed to be cherished as sentimental keepsakes and are not suitable for children or for use as play items.
How long does it take to make my bear?
Turnaround is typically 2–8 weeks, depending on demand. If you have a preferred date, just let me know and I’ll always do my best to meet it.
Can I place a large order?
Yes, I am happy to accept larger orders. If you are planning to order 15 or more bears, please get in touch with me by email or phone so we can discuss your requirements in more detail. Please note that completion times may vary for larger orders.
Can you combine clothing from more than one person?
Yes! I can create a bear using items from multiple loved ones. Just let me know when you order so I can plan the design accordingly.
Can my bear be washed?
No, memory bears are handmade keepsakes and we do not recommend washing them. If your bear does become dirty, please spot clean only. To help keep your bear in the best possible condition, please ensure that any garments or fabrics you send are clean and free from debris before posting.
Can you make other personalised bespoke items?
Yes, absolutely. I am always happy to create personalised bespoke pieces. If you have something in mind, please get in touch by phone or email and I will be very happy to chat through your ideas with you.
Anything I should know before ordering?
Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer refunds, as each bear is made bespoke using your personal clothing items. Every bear is carefully crafted to your requirements, making it unique to you.
Please also note: I only return clothing if requested. From experience, many people find it upsetting to see garments once they’ve been cut, so I don’t tend to send them back. If you’d like any clothing returned or saved for another bear, just let me know. Postage may apply.
